In disrepair and the bell is gone (unless that's a small bell way up high)
I'd like to know more about the history of this steeple, but the building is no longer a church. So far I have not found any information about this mysterious looking structure.

Looks like it might have housed an evangelical Protestant congregation at one time. Might that have been possible?
Such a decorative steeple. I don't think I have seen one with such pronounced column-like features before.

It's rather beautiful but doesn't really seem to fit in with the rest of the architecture of the building - I wonder if it was once on another building?

I can easily imagine the wonderful ring of the bell that was once there. It looks as if the rest of the architecture is still sound.
It certainly is a different looking one. And I sure do love it. Would love to know its history.
It certainly still has hallmarks of an old church, though that star window is very different.
What an interesting structure and neat photos. It does seem like the bell should be in there but big bells like that are very valuable ... possibly removed when the building changed hands? Nice post!
i have never seen a brick church with a tin roof and it looks like the steeple is tin also.. very odd and i like it...

It is very interesting, and I bet somewhere within the history of the area there has to be something about it! It's just too wonderful not to.
It was beautiful in better days I'm sure but I like the steeple and stained glass windows.
Maybe it is under repair. If not that's a long walk to ring a bell, there or not.

There is a lot of intricate work on this steeple! Too bad there is no big bell to ring out! I have never seen a ladder stuck to the roof like this. So is the building abandoned now?

The bell might have been removed if it was thought to be the cause of too many ding-dongs in the local village. Or maybe someone just dropped a clanger....

I love this gorgeous steeple...would love to see the church inside & out! I bet the ladder was put there when the bell had to be removed for safe-keeping and they just left the ladder. Great post!
It's good that old buildings get recycled. We have a building in our town that looks like it used to be a church because there is a brick structure that must have been where sermons were announced. The rest of the building is an odd shape and looks like it is now a home. - Margy
