Wheel and shadow on front of train engine
I haven't a clue as to what the wheel does, but I love the shadow.
See the wheel and shadow at front of engine

Definitely qualifies as wonderful stuff. :-)
The wheels are a great strong graphic element.

I like the first shot with the shadow, great capture! Happy Monday!
Hi, This post is so cool! I am a "railfan" ... love this old equipment. Combining the old stuff and your excellent photography skills is just awesome! Thank you for sharing and thank you for your kind comment on my blog. John
That shadow from the front of the train is wonderful! I guess those trailers can't weigh much, if they can be piled like that!!
Love the first shot! Railroads and trains make excellent photography subjects!
these would be good framed and hung in a train museum. that first shot is wonderful
I agree with Sandra. These need to be frames. Great textures too!

Amazing shots EG - the detail and the colour - trains are so photogenic I love em!! Jane UK
Train details are always good to see EG.. that wheel probably has a very important function :)
I like the old trains and loks. The shadowplay by the wheel is nice captured.
Happy new year
Great shots. I love the first one.
What a wonderful collection of train images. They excite the little boy inside this big boy! Tom The Backroads Traveller
that wheel makes for great wall decor. :)
I love this kind of details!
Those old trailers are quite colourful!
Great shots for the theme! I've always loved trains and wish we had more of them here, but nooooooo. Our politicos years ago decided in favor of their friends in the auto, bus and gasoline bizness to build concrete highways instead. Argh!
If that wheel was on an airplane, it might be used on takeoff - "Wheels up!"
We found one of these flatbeds on wheels, built a plywood frame and traveled up on a switchback to a hidden treehouse. Ah... youth.
These are great shots! I love the yellow contrasting with the metal and shadows. I don't know what the wheel is for either but my 4 year old grandson could tell you! Happy Monday!
Oh, yes! Terrific captures for the day and a great start for the new year!! I do so enjoy your photos!! Hope you have a great week -- camera in hand, of course!!!
Cool shots, EG! I'm surprised that no one knew what the wheel was for!
i love anything train. it is like i am a kid ...& i get super excited and happy. love it!! happy times. ( :
It is wonderful and I like that old wheel in your first photo. Great shots! Glad you could comment today. Not sure why these things happen, the cyber gremlins having fun with us maybe :) Have a great day!
the details are fantastic.
Well taken EG, love them.
Choo choo! ;-)
Lovely shots of the old trains and interesting wheels.
These pictures are beautiful! I love trains anyway. I have seen that wheel on a caboose, but have n idea what it does. We sometimes see a little cart riding the rails with tiny wheels it can put up or down, I wonder if it is one of these railroad ties wagons. Your pictures just have wonderful effects! Love the shadow of the wheel!
They are great photos.
Very impressive engines !
trains, a huge favorite for me!!! I really enjoyed all of these. very cool and oh so interesting!!!
Me too! Love the shadow, but no clue as to what the wheel does!
Very creative shots of the railway ~
Happy New Year to you,
artmusedog and carol
I love these shots of the wheels.
Love the colours, especially the yellow.
Ooh. These really pop. The yellow is catching like fire.
I so enjoy things like that; and your photos are better than being there! (The airfare would be enormous!)

I wonder what the wheel is for too. Makes for good photos though. A nice collection of old stuff.
Wonderful!
Wonderful photos and I like the bright yellow on the train engine and wagons.
Colourful and interesting photos.
Wonderful close up shots.
Wonderful shots!
I like the antique-ness in the pics.
That is one great shadow! Wonderful train images!
I am a train fanatic so I loved these pictures. Thanks.
Great photos! Love anything dealing with trains, too!
I love trains. My favourite part is the caboose. - Margy
you always find so much cool things to photograph. We have old trains I think but they are locked up indoors. :(
