Still Winter Here

 Ferry landing on Lake Simcoe

The ferry that leaves from here crosses Lake Simcoe to Snake Island but...

 Dock at ferry landing

it seems to be more of a snowmobile landing at the moment.

 Black-capped Chickadee

Not ALL birds go south for the winter. Case in point, this Black-capped Chickadee.

 American Goldfinch

Another bird that sticks around is the American Goldfinch.

White-throated Sparrow

And another bird I see this time of year is the White-throated Sparrow.

Sorry you still have snow, but the fluffy little birds are so darling, especially the goldfinch and chickadee.

Enjoyed your line about a snowmobile landing--very fitting! Looks like everything is frozen!

Absolutely winter strong eve, but pretty. Such a sweet birdie!

The snow is almost gone here! I am not sure how I would deal with it if it just stayed here all winter long...I guess I would learn to live with it.

These are such sharp, clear bird pics...I love it when you see the glow of their eyes.

Those birds are adorable. Your goldfinch differs so much from ours. You may not want to hear this, but your blanket of cold snow, is a gorgeous sight for the viewer. The benefit of the net. The beauty without the cold.

It'll be weeks before that lake is open!

The birds are adorable! All puffed up with the cold. I would try to stay away from Snake Island as hard as I could!
