Concrete fence over Talbot River
There are a number of bridges that look like this near where I live. One of them had a sign stating that it was built in the 1930s during the Great Depression.
Closeup
I think the design is simple yet quite attractive. And if it was built in the 1930's, it has been around for 80 years or more.
A few weeks ago, I saw a list of fill-ins on Rose's blog. I copied the list and filled in blanks 1 through 5 here. The next week I filled in 6 through 10 here. This week I have continued with 11 through 15:
11. If I were an element I’d be air, which I associate with freedom, optimism, light-heartedness, joy....
12. If I were a tool I’d be a camera because it tends to help people see more than they would otherwise.
13. If I were a flower I’d be a sunflower, a blossom that can make most people smile.
14. If I were an element of weather I’d be a gentle spring or fall breeze.
15. If I were a musical instrument I’d be a cello because of the variety of sounds it can create: calm, mellow, sensuous, powerful, gentle, silky, clear.... It's versatile.

I love this shot, of the snow covered arc on the bridge. I also enjoyed reading your fills in's.
Looks like the photo was taken in Gamebridge.
I like that bridge, it is very simple but also very nice to look at. And again, I like your answers :))
Have a beautiful day

I love the shape of the bridge. It's like a rainbow (although covered with ice).
What a graceful bridge. (And I loved your answers on the fill-in!)
It is a pretty bridge, I like the design. Wonderful answers to the fill-in. Have a happy day!
A great bridge...shaped like a rainbow, no less!...:)JP
That's one artistic bridge. Lovely!
I like the bridge design and your list. If I were you, I would be a marvelous person. :)
We have a lot of bridges built in the 30's that are still standing. Many of them are a bit narrow by modern standards but they are still there.
The bridge is beautiful! Love the design. One of my great grandfathers was employed in some public work projects here in the U.S. during the Great Depression if I remember correctly. Enjoyed your fill ins! Sunflowers are beautiful, and I like your choice of the air for an element!
i like the bridge design, too!
Well captured in an Ontario late winter. Snow this weekend for us. You? Yuk.
Love the composition in that first photo. Interesting list as well.
Beautiful bridge with the snow covering the arc!
I will follow the link to read your answers.
That is one fine looking bridge. I have been enjoying your list.

My dear friend, I gave the same answers as you did for all of those "if I were" fill-ins and I have not even met you yet. How amazing is that?
The bridge is beautiful. I love the "curve" of its construction. It is a simple design as you said, but is has beauty. So much better than just a straight bridge.
i have not seen a bridge like this. i really like that arch. i am with you on camera and sunflower, in music i would be the drum..
It is an attractive design EG, looks like it may be around for a long time yet!
How unusual and beautiful. A nice place to stop for a proper photo! Most of my fences are drive by. Enjoy your day! Hugs, Diane
I love this bridge, it is a real beauty! I have never seen one like it. Your answers to the questions...I would have answered each one the same way!!!
They just made everything more stylish back then.
Obviously! The arch bridges are everywhere... love the answers and reasons to be like that :)
A beautiful bridge and amazing that it has been around for so long!! And I, too, love your answers for Rose's blog!! Hope you have a wonderful day!! Enjoy!
Wow, that is one tremendously beautifully built bridge. What a lovely capture of the area around it as well in your first photo. So pretty.
Indeed....a great bridge! Unique, and I'm guessing it has made for many of conversations...
Have a beautiful day.
I love that if you were a flower you would be a sunflower! The bridge is unusual and it is great that it has a sign to give some information about it too! xx
I really like that first shot - very pretty bridge even with old snow.
That bridge looks amazing.
Such an interesting and lovely bridge abutment/fence. Loved seeing this throwback from the WPA days! And, I have been enjoying your 5-at-a-time "If I was a " taken from Rose's blog. I've saved it too, and plan on doing the same. Have a great week!
Great bridge/fence. I love the curved piece. Also enjoyed your randoms about yourself, I've never really thought about a camera as being a "tool" before but I think you're right.
I walk to a bridge like this and
now I can imagine what that arch would look like on ours.
Pretty cool.
I was in awe when I opened up and see this.
Beautifully shaped and snow covered too! Excellent choice for TGF!
That is indeed a very pretty bridge.
You're right - that is a common design. I've never heard of the Talbot River - must get out more. ;-)
I like your choices!
And even diry snow looks good to me, believe it or not!
The rainbow arch rails are, indeed, beautiful features of this lovely bridge.
Great photos.
What a pretty little bridge! Love that concrete arch.
You said it: simple and attractive! And 80-year old!
Great list and lovely design on this bridge.
That's a beautiful old bridge! The designs of older ones can be so beautiful if they've had any artistry in their design. And I love your list!
Sweet and familiar bridge!

=^..^=
Great looking bridge, nice that someone though about design rather than just railings.
It's a bridge with a lot of character.
Love the bridge..and amazed at how different it looks in the 2 shots
A pretty bridge design. Not something I would normally see.
Simple can be beautiful. And cello is a great choice. I have several cello CDs (how quaint, right?) that are wonderful. Misha Maisky and Six Cello Suites (Bach) and an Ofra Harnoy CD with romantic cello selections. Lovely!
Oh my - Magnificent!!
Pretty sturdy fence. I agree, simple ut attractive.
a bridge designed with a little creativity...i like it!!!
I love those bridges...I think they are so attractive.
And I love reading your 'If I were' responses...sometimes I wish I had thought of your answer. Like being a sunflower...it is true that they almost always bring a smile to the face!
Lovely bridges. I love them!
I love your snow covered bridge. It is simple, yet elegant. And obviously very well built. Nice to know more about you via your fills in's.
