Horse Farm

Fences on a farm east of where I live

This photo was taken quite a while ago with a point-and-shoot camera that I don't think I own anymore. I just found this shot in my archives and although the photo isn't very clear I do like the lines the fencing makes. FYI: We have more snow than this now.

A few weeks ago, I saw a list of fill-ins on Rose's blog and filled in blanks 1 through 5 here.  This week I have continued with 6 to 10:

6. If I were a direction I’d be north where indirect light (in the Northern Hemisphere) is soft and usually flattering.

7. If I were a piece of furniture I’d be either a desk or a bookcase. It’s hard to choose. A desk because ever since I was a very little kid I have loved paper, pencils, pens, crayons.... A bookcase because I love to read.

8. If I were a liquid I’d be coffee in the morning and tea for the rest of the day.

9. If I were a gemstone I’d be a garnet because they are red...but not flashy. I like that.

10. If I were a tree I’d be a larch, a deciduous conifer with fine, delicate needles. They are gorgeous in spring, summer and fall, but lose their needles in winter - until spring when they surprise us all over again with their beauty.

I am linking to Good Fences HERE.

Nice shot, something about board fences, snow, and horses really works.

I like larches also. I seldom see one though.

as always great shot of one of the many horse farms around here. Good answers to those questions also.

Beautiful shot- I love the lines of the fences. I like your answers- for number 10 if I were a tree I would be one of those wonderful aspens or the pines I have seen (and smelled) at Yellowstone National Park..I could stand there and just inhale all day long. I'm weird, I know!

Your list made me smile.....I would have to agree with you on most of the numbers... so much snow this year...everywhere. Beauty is seen here, not only in the fence, but in the massive amount of land...Beautiful

I love the lines of the fence as well. And I agree with Knipsa, it does look as if the horses were pulling a sleigh.

If I were a horse I'd want a blanket.

happy to see those horses have a barn for shelter.
if i were a direction it would be South as in tropical because I love trees and beaches and sun all year long.
If i were a tree,
i would be the big fat old oak.. because i AM all three

I've always liked Larch trees! And garnets!

Yes, you are spoiled now with more pixels:) But still clear enough -I would say, a typical view of rural America, when looking at the fence:)

If I were ... what meme are you referring to?

Beautiful shot.

I really like this photo. It drew my eye right to the barn, then back to the horses!

The fence lines are a great graphic against the snow.

A garnet. Red. Not the choice I would have expected. But at least it is a somewhat low profile, non-flashy stone.

Beautiful shot. I just loved reading your responses to the questions. Nice to get to know you a little better.

I too like paper and pens, pencils, but I never thought about being a desk. Hmmm, food for thought And I've never heard of a larch tree, which just goes to show what a small world I live in. That's one of the reasons I like blogging and meeting people like you. You open my eyes to the world's diversity and fill my vision with richness that I've never known before.

I guess I would be a desk piled with books. haha

I really like the picture...but it makes me realize how glad I will be when warmer weather returns. I always wonder how much cows and horses feel the cold.

Your answers are really interesting to read...I had to look up what liquid I would be. Went back to read, and thought DUH--I should not have had to look.

I am amazed I did not think of desk and bookcase. I LOVE pens and paper....always buying notebooks and pens even though I don't need them. And I have loved to read ever since I first learned. Mom started telling me it was time for me to turn out my light when I was in second grade. No joke.
