 Black & white version

ALERT!: More experiments with PhotoShop Elements!

 Sepia version

 Original version

I'm doubting that any truck this old was originally painted red, but what do I know? ;)

What a pretty old truck. I believe all vehicles from this era were black so I'm sure the candy apple red is a new color for this old beauty.

It is a cool old truck. I like the colorful red image. Have a happy day!

Delightful. I favor the black and white and the sepia, they are so stunning but then red isn't a color I like so much either. But all excellent captures.

My preference is the b&w. I like the red, but the very green bg is a bit distracting. I find that quite a but with greenery.

I say keep to the black and white on this one. Color complicates it for me.

Great job in Photoshop. Fantastic results! I just ordered Photoshop Elements 13. When I got back from Alaska I downloaded the upgrade to my iMac called "Yosemite". It took 7 hours (DSL in my area isn't too fast). I'm still learning how to navigate the new version iPhoto. I don't like change, so it's been hard for me.

I enjoy seeing the different versions of a photo that you come up with. Of course you probably guessed that the b/w is my favorite.

You're doing well with Elements! Re the original red color - very unlikely. As the ol' anti-Semite, Henry Ford, used to say: "You can have any color you want, so long as it's black." This looks to be a well-restored Model A.

The excellent original is enough for me!

Well, you are having fun and learning all kinds of new PS tricks. I like the red on the truck and who ever painted it did an awesome job. I too love vintage and I think by painting this truck red, they lost value, but it is still cool.

Wonderful photos of a classic.

I always wonder about paint colors, too...on old cars and trucks.

I have to say this is a beauty and you got a wonderful capture of it. But I do like the Sepia and B&W version best.

I'm always excited to look at an old truck. Looking at the black and white and sepia first made that bright red quite a surprise. I have pictures of my Grandfather in a truck like that one. Well done!

Great old truck and I agree that red is probably not original colour. I love the sepia version.

What a great old truck it is indeed!! You do have so much fun, EG, and your blog is always a great way to start my day!! Hope your week is going well!!!

The owner did a great disservice to that car by painting it red. He obviously wanted to be noticed and get attention. I feel restored old cars should be done so as they originally came out from the factory. I think your sepia version came out the best.

I like the B&W, EG!

I'm glad I know it's red but I still prefer the sepia though!

I love black and white (especially for "old" stuff), but I have to admit, I like the original version best in this case.

This is a wonderful old car (in any color), but I do like that red- snazzy!

A fine vintage truck...I hope it did come in red originally♪ http://lauriekazmierczak.com/z-sighting/

I do love sepia for certain subjects, and vintage vehicles alwasy look so classy in monochrome.

NatureFootstep said...

I love that old car. :) All versions is good. But I like the poster edges as it looks a little like a cartoon :)

Kay said...

I "vote" sepia with black and white a close second. The effects are nice but the first two compliment the subject especially well.

Who knows if red was an authentic color, it should have been if it was not.

I think some vintage cars WERE originally red. My father (who is 84) often tells the story of his very first car, which was a 1936 Ford. The car was bright red, and his father made him paint it because he didn't want a bright red car sitting in front of their house.
