A favourite East Gwillimbury hill
We've had a little snow but not enough to cover the grass or...
A local farmer's field
corn stubble. But the weather today was pretty close to 0°F and that's chilly! Many birds have been frequenting our feeders such as...
Male hairy woodpecker
this hungry woodpecker and...
Female downy woodpecker
and this little cutie. Both love peanuts!

We've had more snow here, and it seems to have gotten colder.
Hey, but at least it's snow. :-)
Really lovely photos.
Great captures od the woodpeckers.
Love those woodpeckers, they are just so colorful! Great captures!
We have the same snow situation.
Just a dusting of snow is enough for me & it still looks pretty over the fields! Very nice woodpecker photos!
Ah, I do love your birds!! Our snow is disappearing, but not quite fast enough!! Have a great week!!
Yes it feels like winter, EG! My mum has been getting the female Downy at her suet feeder but not the male so I wonder where they are?
When you say close to 0 do you mean as the warmest temperature. I am liking our snow right now. It's pretty thick here.
Everything looks better with a coat of snow!
How very nice. there is a seeming narrative to your post that says something. Down to....bird left, bird right, satisfaction all over it. Glad I came - as always
Hi Tina. Happy New Year. We have a little more snow here but the fields aren't totally covered yet and the snowmobile trails in the southern half of the province need a bit more snow. Great pictures of the woodpeckers. I had a downey at the feeder today.
Hi Tina, There is something about snow covered area and your photos pick up on that. Very nice indeed. The birds are cute!
Sweet woodpeckers!
That's exactly how ours finally began too. Several little dustings and even now we still just barely have enough snow for sledding on our hill! Pretty view into your field!
Love the wiggly rows of corn.
love love love the woodpecker portraits!
I too love those woodpeckers. Great shots!
This morning we got a thinner dusting of snow than you did and it was gone in hours. Yours looks like it may have a teensy bit more staying power.
We have a little more snow than that, and icy roads, but only down to 29ºF, and tomorrow above freezing again. The Hairy Woodpecker is is a little cutie! Great shots, Tina.
Beautiful! The first picture is especially lovely, but they are all good.We do have more snow than that.
Whoa, 0F don't be expecting me anytime soon. Reading blog posts works on my head. I just got through reading a post about flowers and butterflies in Florida and then 0 degrees with you.
0 is cold! Those birds are thankful that you're their friend.
We don't get snow in South Africa and I'm glad but it's always great to see what you experience!

I love the birds! Beautiful shots, all.
Lovely captures!
Snow is really beautiful.. but the cold weather is not nice. We have now in the morning -20 °C and little more snow as you have.
If this is winter... I'll take it. (^_−)
I thought you would have more snow by now. Love the Woodpeckers.
that woodpecker in the last shop appears to be giving the EYE to what is inside, trying to decide if the menu suits him. love those 5 trees in the snow.... trees are my thing. also like those rows and rows
A light dusting of snow.. Oh how I would like that! I must try one of those feeders for the smaller birds, you capture the best bird shots EG.
Nice photos! And I guess if you have to have snow a little dusting is best. :) Nope, there ain't no snow in Ocala. (Sounds like the title of good country song).
Even a little snow makes the landscape look beautiful!
I love your woodpeckers. This reminds me I need to go get more food. I see you have had a wee bit of snow. We got about half of that yesterday morning. Winter is here.
Love the Downy's. One of my favorite local birds.
I really, really like that first shot...not sure why I find it so appealing. the second one reminds me of around here. And I have been seeing several woodpeckers at my feeders, too. If the suet feeder is empty, the red-bellied comes and squawks at me...honest to goodness, I do think it is at me. Any time I am with camera in front of window, he flits away with much movement, but let it be empty and me moving around in front of it and he sits there and flits about and squawks...though squawks is a bit strong, I don't know another word for it.
Beautiful birds, amazing captures!
So sorry but I can't wait to see more snow!!!
The little cuties are very pretty.
I wish for more snow, if that's what you want :)
Have a Great Day, Tina!
Peace :)
I noticed a lot more birds at the feeders with the colder weather.... Love the woodpeckers.... Michelle
We have about 6", but it's getting warmer Saturday. sigh.
Those woodpeckers have found a good spot!
=)
Beautiful transformation to white snowy landscape! Glad u feed the birds during this time
No snow here....but then I live on the Texas Gulf Coast where a single flake causes a major news story! LOL!
What gorgeous photos of the beautiful woodpeckers!
