Colourful Chickens

 Colourful chicken

In a town next to East Gwillimbury, a farmer has free range chickens. So free that sometimes they stand by the edge of the road! (Brave, aren't they? Oh, and crazy too.)

 Breast feathers

This one is so attractive with flecks on its breast feathers and...

 Tail feathers

peacock colours on its tail that it's not difficult to understand why

An Orillia street market

crafters create fake chickens for collectors.

I am linking to  Saturday Critters HERE.

I prefer real chickens, but hubby says no, so I'll just admire the artist's creations.
Have a great day!

I live minutes from downtown Tampa, and have neighbors with chickens. See so many breeds, all beautiful. As long as they don't keep a cock with their constant (especially early AM) cackles...I'm good. :)

On our trip to Hawaii we saw all sorts of wild chickens in the rural areas. I thought it was comical.

I've seen some strange and fun variety of chickens. I like these a lot. I'd love to have one of the fake ones. I'd put it in my yard where it would be easily seen. We're not allowed to have chickens in this subdivision, so that would drive the Nazis on the governing board crazy and I'd laugh and laugh and laugh.

Hey, 2016 is already starting out pretty good!

I love chickens, real and fake. I had a neighbor (up the road a half mile) who had chickens and they were alongside the road frequently. They always seemed to remain safe.

I'll take the fake chickens. I already spend too much money each year for birdseed.

Well isn't he a dandy? I don't think I have seen a chicken with turquoise tail feathers before.
Happy New Year to you- I hope it's a great start. I am just glad the rain is over for now and awaiting the first glimmer of winter's arrival.

Very pretty!

A farmer near my sisters house has chickens that go where they want. And they're right by the horse trail, too. But the chickens seem smart enough not to go too far.

I think I agree with Andy: the real one is quite a cool dresser.

He's just gorgeous! I strongly believe in free range, but you have to worry about predators when there's no large enclosure of some kind!
