Unpainted Barn

Old barn doors with grapevine starting to take over

Even the boards used to repair these old doors are weathered now.  (These photos were taken in late October.)

 Weather-beaten silo

I was feeling bold and walked a little way up the farmer's driveway to take the first two photos.

Barn as seen from the road

As you can see, the barn is quite close to the road.

The place looks quite beat up which makes it imminently photographable. Wonder if it is still being used.

A quite interesting place...

Isn't it too bad how the part I love is the part that will destroy the barn? I love seeing ivy/vines grow like this, but hate what they do to buildings.

As attractive as it is weather-beaten.

Both wood and concrete is showing great texture in your photos. This barn has character.

I think this is a magnificent barn. I adore the old unpainted ones. Ours is unpainted and I have no intentions of painting it. What’s left of the silo is very interesting.

Nice find and thanks for sharing this week. My beck of the woods is loaded with barns like this. Happy Barn Hunting in 2015.

It's a great one, EG!

This one definitely has character. I predict it will be around a long time. My grandfather's old car house (built in 1926) still hasn't hit the ground yet.

The place does look like it's seen a lot of years.

Amazing how that one unpainted barn appears even prettier than some I've seen painted! Great shots, what a gorgeous day you had too.

These old - and now possibly unloved - buildings really do have a charm of their own.
