Sit A While/ Bench

Front yard bench next to walkway

Some people's front gardens look a lot like private parks. I wonder if the owners sit here and watch the passersby.

A few bloggers have informally joined RuneE at Visual Norway in featuring benches on our blogs on Fridays. To find out who else is playing,  click HERE.

I have the same thought. I think they are more decorative than functional.

Such a pretty garden, I sure hope someone sits there and enjoys it.

I have a bench like that, and I never sit on it! But I have other garden chairs that are a lot more comfortable.

We have a bench in our front yard where we can sit and see the roses. It faces away from the street.

What a lovely setting. I would want a porch across the street, so I could look at the bench among the flowers.

The bench seems very comfortable, but I'm even more impressed by the "framing" around it - partly due to your angle and composition - partly due to the work of the owners. Maybe the only time they can sit there is when they are having a break from gardening! :-)

PS Thank you for the comment and "the plug"

I was admiring the brilliant geraniums around the bench. I was wondering whether the bench was there for people who need a little rest. There is a house a few blocks from here with a fresh dish of dog water, all summer long. There is a sign beside it, and everything!

Benches do add something to a garden. Gorgeous!

That's beautiful. Who cares if they sit on it? It's nice to look at...we've got several decorative benches in our area...in fact, I think there are two at our house!

Have a great day!

This is a lovely bench. A neighbour down my street has two in their yard, which they use on bright sunny days to read.

So beautiful. I wonder if they do sit and enjoy. I love the red geraniums. They say 'POP'. MB

As George said, we do have a bench in our front yard. I asked him to put it there so that I could sit and look at the roses... As you can imagine, I love sitting on my bench.

Your photo is gorgeous though.
Hugs,
Betsy

You voiced a thought similiar to one I often have...I always see peoples porches with rockers and just so cozy looking. A place i would love to sit and visit, yet I NEVER see anyone use them.

Anyway, this is a great photo.

I think I would make use of such a bench if I had one in my garden.
