Yellow Canoe/Rural Thursday

 Tiny Marsh, Ontario

This year the water in this wetland is low - even for early August - but not too shallow for a canoe.

Enjoying a paddle through the lily pads and reeds

FYI: Tiny Marsh is not tiny. It takes its name from the township it's in, which you may have just guessed is called Tiny Township. No, the township isn't tiny either! Apparently a former lieutenant governor's dog was.  Yep, the township was named for someone's pet.

However it got it's name, it looks like a great place to go canoing!

Let's hope today's rain will help the water levels. Nice capture for a rural area.

It looks like a fun spot to paddle in and I enjoyed the story about the naming of the place.

I haven't been canoeing in a long time. It looks like fun. I wish it would rain to fill up that wetland some more.

Y'all shore do some funny things up in them thar parts! Tiny, indeed! Looks like a lovely place for a paddle in a lovely yellow canoe, though. You didn't happen to see a yellow submarine, did you?

This is re your question on Stone Creek: Yes, of course that is a pyramid. Stone Creek is built on a pyramid scheme! :-)

I love that bright pop of canoe against the gorgeous waters - ahh... If it's not one million degrees again this weekend, I'm desperately hoping to fit in a canoe/kayak session :)

Is there a Tobyville up there? Or a Lolaville?

Well that's sweet, naming the township for your dog....it looks like a great place to canoe, and if I had a canoe, I'd love it to be yellow!!!

A yellow canoe!! Great. I haven't been on a canoe ride for quite some time. Only we had a red canoe.

Love your water lily pics. MB
