S/Slays the Dragon

St. George slays the dragon, Jackson's Point (top portion)

These very beautiful stained glass windows are at the back of St. George's Anglican Church built in 1877 near Jackson's Point.

Those stained glass windows are really stunning. I've always loved them - something about how the light can capture the colours of the glass and just the artistry involved.

Intricate art work and many hours of labor in each of these.

What an incredible window! xx

Such rich colours in the windows. Little bit unusual to see St. George depicted, although totally appropriate for St.George's Church.

Can you imagine making these windows? I cannot hardly even bare to think of it.

And the words 'slays the dragon' reminds me of a song, but for the life of me I cannot think of it. I bet you didn't know you was going to make me do some serious thinking with them, did you?

Ah, such beauty. My wife was a member, in her childhood, of a St. George Episcopal Church. But it did not have such beautiful windows as this sanctuary!
