Great Crested Flycatcher/ Camera Critters

Great-crested Flycatcher

Actually this pretty bird and its mate visited my gardens for a few days a while ago and I am just getting around to posting it now.  I had never seen one before!

Nice close shot of the flycatcher. Perfect time of year to be out birdwatching.

This is a little guy I've never seen before. Really cute.
In answer to your question about the trains running at night. This area where we stay is the main East/West route for trains goig through the Allegheny mountains of Pennsylvania. The mountains are very steep, and this special train track runs right beside the B&B through a long tunnel. It is also the highest point and all the trains must stop and check their brakes before decending the 5 miles down to the next town. The trains DO run all night, and it can be noisey, but to a train lover it's wonderful

He's a cute little thing. I don't know what's so great about his crest though. :) Maybe he was having a bad feather day. Good picture.

Cute little yellow belly. Nice visitors to have. That reminds me, I still need to feed the birds today.

[I'll let you know if I ever do meet the eccentric neighbour with the white deer. ;-) ]

Great shot! I chose birds for my theme today, too. :)

if this was a "first time seeing" the bird ....then it was a "lifer". I have learned that recently :)

Great shot of that little beauty.
