Abandoned tractor
A is for ABANDONED.
For sure, North AMERICANS live in a throw-AWAY society. As an example. it's not hard to spot old machinery left to rust beside farmers' fields. I suspect this old tractor has been retired for quite a while. Hmmm. I wonder what my neighbours would think if I moved this to my front lawn.
Abandoned house
Abandoned homes are rare in these parts, though. Land is very expensive, so usually such an eyesore is quickly torn down and replaced with a zillion-room mansion. Toronto is moving north, east and west so it won't be long.
Abandoned barn
A farmer still works the land, but I'm guessing he rents the field and has his own barn.

I would love to have that tractor on my lawn so it would not bother me if you put it on yours. i love the photo of it. and i like that house hiding in the trees. land is at a premium here in Florida to.
Starting over with the alphabet? I am fond of pictures of abandoned buildings and farm equipment. Enjoyed these.

It seems to be just the opposite here. Lots of old abandoned homes - I suppose people have left them for greener pastures. But few abandoned tractors. Everybody here seems to love and want these things.

We have many abandoned old homes and farming equipment in my side of the country. Funny how these weathered old things still manage to look beautiful … at least from my perspective.
Interesting photos of abandonment. We see a lot of old cabins, etc, in our part of the world. They usually fall down on their own before anyone bothers to remove them.
Oh I dunno, I'll take the lot. Then I'll win the lottery...
My grandmother would say that barn is coming from together. I wonder if that was her idiom, or if it just made us giggle?
You're definitely right about our throw-away society. But you've gotten some wonderful photos as a result.

Oh what a little TLC could do.
Add a plow and you might have the ideal tool for clearing winters snow.
Not suggesting winter is around the corner just yet.
I don't like seeing these things for real, but they making interesting pictures that I love seeing. I like photographing them too.
There are loads of abandoned items around my area- from cars to tractors to bathtubs- you never know what you will see hidden in the brush, or right out in someone's front yard.
Things do seem less and less designed to last these days. In a world of finite resources, this is a troubling trend.

I love your old tractor. I think it is probably a 50's or 60's year model. The house? It might be older than the one I was born in! :)

N. Americans aren't the only ones. When we see it in other places, though, we think it's more quaint. I like old crusty stuff...makes for great photos!
As long as you positioned it deliberately, so that it was obviously a feature, rather than 'dumped', I bet that tractor on your front lawn would attract quite a number of viewers. You might want to close your front curtains!

I am always enchanted by abandoned buildings and I've conducted quite a few treasure hunts at them over the years.
It's surprising to see what people leave behind.
Sad to think that they see no value in their possessions!
