J/Alphabe-Thursday

Not my car (sigh)

J is for JAUNTY JAGUAR

No, not my car, but it could be...if someone out there offered to buy it for me. Okay, only kidding as I hear the maintenance and insurance bills are ridiculously high.

Front end

But it would be fun to tootle about town in warm weather, don't you think? For a few minutes - as I was playing in Photoshop Elements (see below) - I imagined I owned this car.  Now I'm ready to give it up.

Photoshop Elements and I had some fun

As Marshall McLuhan is supposed to have said: "The car has become an article of dress without which we feel uncertain, unclad, and incomplete in the urban compound." Do you agree?

What a sweet little car! If I had a Jaguar or a Corvette or any other sports car, I'd agree with McLuhan, but in my utilitarian Rav4--no, I do not agree!

Great pictures!!
Who doesn't love a convertible sports car?
We have one and I can't wait for spring to drive again along the Waterfront Trail on Lake Ontario.

I'm not a car person, but have to admit it is quite spiffy looking!

I love the old school Jags. I would like an XKE convertible and the income it would take to maintain the car.

love the 3rd shot or view. nice work. do you think any one would mind if we took a ride? it would be back in just a shake??! right??! ( :

I always thought I'd look good in a yellow Jaguar XKE. These days i drive a pickup truck instead.

A Jaguar is a girls best friend? Or is it still diamonds?

I'll take one in red please.

A cool car! But I prefer something more practical. ;)

I'd be happy to take this car off your hands if you're tired of it. I really like what you did with Photoshop Elements.

I value my anonymity too much to want a car like a Jaguar. People are always going to notice it, and stop to take photos. But days like this, I wish I had any sort of a car, so I would not have to walk to the bus stop...

A Jaunty Jaguar indeed, what a beauty!

A beautiful Jag! It would be fun to tootle around town for a day.

my dream would be a 1970 chevelle SS - muscle car all the way. :)

A great "J" choice. ;)

I loved Jaguars as a little girl, so totally with you on this one! McLuhan was pretty spot on - it's certainly true in the car-obsessed States (also, mention McLuhan and I always think of that scene from Annie Hall:)

I would mind having one in my garage. Love the way your PS fun turned out ~:)

I think it takes a certain type of person to drive in a convertible -- I'm not one of them -- but that is a gorgeous car. :)

No, it isn't yours. It's mine. Sorry about that!

I am presently coveting a Bentley that goes by my place fairly often!

I have always like the way the jaguar looks!

I would be lost without my trusty old pickup...

The jag is cool, but wouldn't work for my lifestyle.

Now I could see going for a drive in this!

strange to say, cars were never that important to me as long as they didn't skid in winter and started on cold mornings. now, at the grand old age of not 20/30/40, I must say that I look at some of these sports cars and dream just a little bit.

Awesome car - it would definitely draw attention as you drove around in it! :)

Gorgeous car! I think it would look really good on me. (smile)

When I was 19 I dated a guy with
an E type Jaguar and with the
top down we drove the mountains
of Beruit.. what fun it was. Well
I broke up with that guy and
came back to the live in the
States saying when I get older
I will have one of my own. Was
not to be... I now drive a mother
car but still think about it from
time to time with a smile.
Good Post

I wouldn't mind having a car like that, either. But I'm with you. Don't need the expensive maintenance! I love the tweaked version. Very attractive!

Susan said...

I don't even have the clothes to drive something like that. People would wonder where I stole it from.

Michelle said...

The fun I could have in that car!

That's some ride.

Here I thought you visited the zoo when I saw the title. I'm not a big fan of cars. As long as it runs, I'm happy.

Nice looking car and like your editing on the last shot.

This was made when Jags were special. Now they look like Fords in drag.

I agree that for many people, cars are a big part of their self-image. Not me. I keep a ten year old car here in Florida and a six year old car in Connecticut. Neither is in the least bit sexy, but they are comfortable, carry all I want or need, and they were well made and reliable.

That is, indeed, a very nice car.

All that Jaguar needs is a James Bond to drive it. =>

That is a nice Jaguar you found, Ms. T.G. I am sure that maintance would be expensive for this one but then it wouldn't be very practical to drive an antique either.

Classic Jaguars are my favourite cars (don't own one - just admire them from afar). This one is a beauty.

That's one Jaguar that purrs.

Love it!

My husband came home from Little Rock one day driving a Jag. "It needs a little work", he said. Well, turned out it needed a LOT of work...

Linda said...

Lovely car, but not practical for the grandkids car seats and all the groceries.

Wow, what a car -it inspired you to choose fancy words like jaunty and tootle, I've never heard those words, so I have to look 'em up:):)

Eden House News and views said...

Oh I do love jaguars and now I am 50 feel old enough to have one just need funds to buy one

Judie said...

my husband drives a convertible and i drive a rav4! what does that tell you?

Jenny said...

I will not be able to buy this car for you for our own safety...

Because if i bought it for you...
...it would definitely get painted hot pink and people would become ENRAGED with Jealousy when they saw us cruising by in it...

So needless to say the Jaunty Jaguar will remain with its current owner...For now((winkwink))

Great Job on the letter J...
