Paddling on Frenchman's Bay, December 27!
There was very little ice at the end of December and this athlete was exercising his muscles up and down the bay.
I admired his enthusiasm from the safely of the shore.

Thanks to the last few cold days they are now skating on the bay. I'll wait for thicker ice before I wander out.
I see he is the red, white and blue colours! Lovely reflections.
7C in Haninge today so I'm sure there are a few people here doing the same.
My enthusiasm for paddling in the winter diminishes with the water temperature. I admire his dedication. :-)
What a brave little paddler...brrrr!
Nice clear and very crisp shots... bet his hands are cold ;-)
Great shots and reflections! Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!
Nice shots! Now I can hardly wait till we can try out our canoe!
I would be so fearful of capsizing and falling in that cold water!
Like the spot of red. Beautiful water reflections.

He looks patriotic in those colors. Great reflections. Happy New Year. Jo
kudos to him for paddling in the ice and cold... i am thinking all that effort keeps him toasty warm
Que lindas fotos! Desejo um novo ano lindo e feliz! bjs, chica
I admire you for the beautiful reflections you've captured.
Reminds me of that old joke:
What's the difference between a canoe and a Canadian?
A canoe tips!
drum roll
"Frenchman bay" , and there are even the colors of the french flag! :o)
I LOVE your 2014 fav picture , I agree with your choice !
I wish you all the best for this New Year !
Oh boy that would be cold if something happened.
love the red, white and blue! :)
A beautiful moment to reflect on the water, he's having a wonderful life!
I think the safety of the shore, and not the cold water, is a great idea.
Woah, that would be really cold if he flipped into the water. I'm not that brave. Love the pic!
I imagine they are not a very good ice breaker.
Not the kind of water you want to be tipping over into!
I love that little water splash in the first picture, it is very cool! Also the cool reflections. Was it very cold?
That looks cold!
What a difference from last year, EG!
Well, he's surely braver than I am, but what great shots and an energetic start for my day -- I can always use one of those!! Enjoy your weekend!!
Nice reflections, but I can just feel the cold in these photos.
Podziwiam te fotografie ciągle i niezmiennie!
The colors add warmth to the cold.
Nice shot!
I guess it is cold!
Love the photos but I'm with you! I would watch from the safety of the shore.
Lovely but surely cold, right? :-)
I have a friend who is also a wonderful photographer, and she just posted a great picture of some Ottawans enjoying a Polar Dip to start the new year. It definitely rivals this one for inscrutable behaviour in the middle of winter.
I would be right next to you on the shore ... can't imagine risking a fall into that very cold water. In the first reflection , it almost looks like he went right through the bottom of his kayak into the water ... Brrrr, parish the thought :( Fun Pictures ...

Hope he doesn't fall in the freezing water. Nice reflections.
Nice catch ! I can actually feel the guy making effort through you pics...
