Ring-billed gulls
Ring-billed gulls are very common in the Toronto area. They are fairly aggressive gulls and can be found just about anywhere where there's water...or French Fries. They are excellent scavengers and especially love messy people who leave behind tasty tidbits. You may hate gulls but actually they do us a BIG favour cleaning up after us.
Diving for Dollars dinner
But their diets are not limited by what we leave behind.
A tasty invertebrate
Got one! Sometimes gulls fight with each other over such findings but this day...
Gotta savour this!
food must have been plentiful so the lucky gull was able to eat in peace.

Ha, I had a laugh over the fries comment.. Yes, the gulls do love their fries.. Great post and photos.. Enjoy your day!
They used to gather under the bridge in Sarnia where we had 3 chip trucks. They were well rewarded for their efforts.
that is the most awesome dive ever, he is standing on his head. the last 3 are fantastic.. i can see them printed and framed in a set of 3. i love gulls.
Awesome shots! That is quite the photo of the dive!
You got some great shots of the gulls. Yes they can be noisy but I like to see them by the Bay.

Beautiful shots! I love the white on white.
I like them. They're such characters!
Brilliant images.
Awesome, I love that diving one.
You caught that second shot at just the right moment.
Nice action shots!
Oh yes, breakfast is good today.....I just may keep diving all day long too!
awesome shots! great action!
A great action sequence!
I actually like gulls - I think they're smart and quite funny. Not good for them to eat French fries, though, but of course they do that when they find some. I have seen them fighting over potato chips at the beach.
I can always count on a smile to start my day when I visit your site every morning!! I do love these -- as always! Have a beautiful day!!
Great catches for both the diving gull and the EG Cameragull.
Love the nose dive!
Boa tarde, as fotos são magicas pela boa qualidade, cor e nitidez, são uma beleza que aprecio.

I've had to fight off gulls at the beach in Southern California for my crackers or chips. Gees those guys are gutsy!
Cool pictures girl!
Fantastic photos of the gulls with their wings open.
My cat loved fries too! He also would have liked to try gull if it was available - he was a real hunter at heart!
I like to observe them ! once again, you made fantastic pictures !
I love watching the gulls at the beach...such large birds, too!...:)JP
Beautiful wing spread on the gulls - especially in the third photo. And you offer a great case for giving these shorebirds some respect.
I like the diving shot. I go to a spot in summer where the Gulls hang out and they make wonderful photo props.
Gulls are fascinating to watch
Great action photos!
the diving shot is fabulous.
These are awesome pictures!!! And look at that wing span! Each shot is beautiful, you should make a collage and put it somewhere.
Wowee!!! What a great lot of photos... that second one especially.
Loved the post.
I'm not a contributor this week, but popping over to admire :D)
These are so good! I especially like the one where the gull is diving into the water.
You got some wonderful action shots of those gulls! We have plain old sea gulls here and they are quite pushy.
FABULOUS compositions!

Great action shots
Super action shots!
A fabulous series of photos.
we don't get many gulls around here but I have been to a few lakes where they were aggressive enough to fly down and snatch your lunch from your hand while it was on its way to your mouth!
Oh you got some marvelous images to share. Love each and every one of them~
Great photos! And you are so right that they help clean up after the messy.
That second shot makes me laugh out loud almost...fabulous capture.
Great captures, E.G. You sure were in the right spot at the right time to shoot the entry into the water!
wow for the dive :) Never ever seen a shot so perfect before :) A once in a lifetime shot :)
You are welcome to join in NF DAM as soon as life gives you 5 min to spare :)
hhahahhah love the nose dive.... and, that third one....absolutely beautiful!
Fabulous shots, I find it so difficult to photograph birds in flight. That is a stunning shot of the dive. Sea gulls are such funny birds to watch. I don't see them much.
