Truth be told, I like split-cedar rail fences any time of year but I think they are the most beautiful in winter when there's still a bit of snow clinging to the topsides.
looks pretty. i bet a great work out to go through that snow for a while. slims the tummy a bit, we all can use that after all the eating in December. ( :
Regardless of the season, your captures are superb and take my breath away!! Wonderful composition and beautiful as always!! Hope you're enjoying a lovely day!!
These split-rail fences are iconic in many parts of our countries. You've used them to great effect here in these two photos! The scene is bleak in its solitude, but is enchanting for that very reason!
I do agree rail fences are the most beautiful, but I'm pretty sure they would not even slow my goats down. Well, maybe the big fat ones, but it wouldn't stop them. LOL
East Gwillimbury is a rural town less than an hour north of Toronto, Canada's largest city.
My family calls me CameraGirl because I take my camera with me wherever I go.

Yes, beautiful in the snow!
Yes, these are lovely. Fresh fallen snow makes just about everything prettier, even already pretty split rail fences.
I so agree. I love that kind of fence, and a lining of snow is the best.
So very beautiful. The snow looks fresh and new...
My favorite kind of fencing and with snow on it, no less!...:)JP
Snow makes the fences even nicer...
I agree. the snow is the icing on the fence!

They are mine too. We mostly have those on the farm and this time of year they are the best work of art. Hug B
Beautiful winter scenes.
Fantastic views! Beautiful... I greet! :)
They certainly make good pictures.
I like the brown stubble in the fields, too, against the snow.
The snow is quite lovely on the split-rail fencing. I like these shots very much.
Totally agree, the snow caps add to the atmosphere of the photo. Very lovely!
I love these shots, EG!
So charming. The split rail is elevated with the snow on it. Lovely shots!
I am the same about these fences. Lovely images!
Iconic. Thank You
These ole timey split rails are absolutely my favorites along with the little white wooden picket fences. The white show really sets it off. Lovely.
That looks like a great, Kentucky fence!
It looks like a painting! Happy fences! Hugs, Diane
Oh yes!, I wholeheartedly agree....stunning with the snow!
Split rail fences are the best in any season but you are right a little snow dresses them up very nicely.
Love the snowy landscapes you've captured!

I can only agree with you and everyone else. So pretty!

That's a lovely view - from the comfort of inside looking out.
Very pretty. I too like the snow on that fence.
You showcased those split rails beautifully, surrounded by snow.
Excellent fencing and perfect winter scenes!
I love this winter scenes. Just enough snow, not too much.
You're right. They look most picturesque in the snow.

what a beautiful image....i think my favorite part is the rusty grasses peeking out of the snow. but also that's a very cool fence!!!!
