Over Ice Huts/Sky Watch

Sunset over Lake Scugog at Ceasarea

Saturday at sunset and it looks quiet, but actually there were a few snowmobiles out and about.

Not as sad and quiet as it appears

Ice and a sun setting - it doesn't get much better than that! Lovely.

Snowmobiles are fun and they are LOUD.

Very pretty photograph.

A beautiful scene and a gorgeous sky. I am amazing at the ice fishing and the huts. The snowmobiling sounds like fun, have you tried it? Beautiful shots, happy skywatching!

A hut? On the ice? Ummm, nice to look at but wouldn't want to visit.

Some ice huts can get very elaborate but these look pretty basic. I wonder what the attraction is to ice fishing?!

So beautiful! Fire in the sky.

I know that ice is thick, but I get nervous seeing those fishing huts so far out, especially in the spring when they just can't seem to want the ice fishing season to be over.

I didn't think 'sad' when viewing these pictures -- I though 'peaceful' and 'beautiful'. The color of the sky is amazing.

Ah yes, ice-fishing! I remember freezing my buns when I tried this many years ago. Lovely shots.

I didn't realize that the ice was thick enough yet. Cool shots!

A colleague is flying out to Québec on Saturday for a snowy honeymoon, I'm so envious! She's going to snowmobile, she's going to have snow, cold, beautiful sunsets... Yup, I'm trying to tell you I'm jealous! :-)

A beautiful winter scene, and hopefully the ice is thick enough to hold up the snowmobiles and ice-fishermen. So many horror stories around the country this month, but this looks nice and peaceful.

Well, you had to have had some pretty cold weather to freeze the lake enough for ice fishing and snowmobiling ... ice fishing never appealed to me. But taking photos of gorgeous sunsets like this did!

This is glorious! both of them!

didn't I see people being rescued off the ice on Lake Scugog on TV recently.... ice wasn't thick enough and lots of open water showing. I hope everyone is being careful.

What a wonderful sunset, specially the first shot is great. I love the combination of the cold snow and ice with the warm colors of the sun.
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your weekend.

Are the huts used for ice fishing? Boy, does it look cold, but oh, so beautiful. I would love to be out there on a snowmobile.genie
