Just beautiful! I have never seen this happen before. Super! I will have to keep my eyes open for this.

Seems like all the wildflowers have gone to seed. We have been collecting and planting them in the hopes of having our own wildflower garden net year.

This is really good. I took some thistle pics yesterday but they are not even close to how good this one is. Your pics are so clear and detailed. MB

Wow!! This is so detailed and close, and I am so envious that you took it, rather than me. But in the great scheme of things, it was taken, and is beyond beautiful!

This is a beautiful picture of a weed I learned to despise as a youngster. One of my jobs on our small farm was to keep thistles out of the corn. I never won that battle.

Aren't they a joy to photograph? They look like an abstract painting these days. Beautiful shot!

Thistle down is beautiful stuff to see and nice to know the thistle fed many insects in its prime.

Fabulous shot. I really love it.

We don't have any thistles around here, but I was taking shots of willow herb last week. I love to see the way they unfold and disperse the seeds.

You got a great shot!

Your photos always seem to have amazing colour tone.

You caught the seeds at just the right moment. I'll bet the dried thistle would be pretty in a floral arrangement.

This macro brings us the paradox of a contrast in textures. What a neat thing to see it spikey and soft at the same time.

Nice image - we've got some thistles in our yard that we've let go to seed. The flowers are pretty neat and I think that we're going to try to encourage (not that they need encouragement!) a few for next summer.

Lovely shot! It's that time of year again where the seeds are blowing everywhere.
