Mid November/ Nature Notes

 Browns, greens and off-whites

Here in Ontario, our plants don't have much colour now. But wait! Brown is a colour too! And mosses and some ferns are green.

The good news is our skies have been more cheerful than usual - more blue skies than I remember in past Novembers, which are often grey and dreary. No wonder some Ontario homeowners put up Christmas decorations so early. Their holiday lights will glow every evening from now through January when our nights seem so long.

For me, the best seasonal lights are the beautiful sunsets and sunrises we often enjoy in late fall and winter. My fingers are crossed that there will be plenty of these!

You made brown beautiful.

Wonderful expressions of November. Ferns just make me happy for some reason. Maybe because they are so delicate looking but so hardy.

I like brown. It can be a very subtle color. So post as many browns as you like. I'm sure there are other people out there who will enjoy them as well!

I agree that sunrises and sunsets are the best seasonal lights, but each of these pictures is beautiful in its own right.

I love all the seasons and the variations of brown are very beautiful too me. I enjoyed your nature collage as always and the icicles are fantastic in the next post.

What a beautiful collage! The browns and greens complementing each other as do the textures of the seed heads. Love the softness of the goldenrod and the delightful nest of acorns next to the vibrant green of the fern.

A beautiful post.
