Rusty red tractor

It's not uncommon to see rusty red farm equipment in the country. Many farmers and former farmers use them as lawn ornaments, reminders of a bygone age. But wait!  Turn around and you can see...

Rusty red tractor reunion

...at least seven more rusty tractors lining this farmer's driveway.  Hey! Where did that green tractor come from?

Yep, I like rust. It's a good thing be because there's a lot of it here. Damp climate, you know! And tractors seem to rust so well. These are beauts.

I really like that rusty old tractor in your first picture. A neighbor had a similar tractor when I was growing up. It wasn't quite so rusty at that time and it still ran. He used it for autumn hay rides.

Old but attractive in their way!

JDaniel would love to climb on them. He won't even notice the rust. He would just love that they are tractors.

I don't know what it is, but we do seem to be attracted to old and rusty objects. Me, too.

I want to know what kind (brand) tractor that first orange one is. Do you have any idea? I have a friend who is an obsessed tractor guy. Very nice composition

I was out yesterday scrounging for things to photograph for my blog. I spotted a red tractor partially buried in the snow. I thought it was going to be an original posting but you beat me to the punch.

Rusty implements and wire shapes are very popular garden ornaments in South Africa nowadays. I've also seen tractors hoisted onto mounds or gate posts at the entrance to farms. I'd not want to depart from my tractor either, if I was a farmer. Good photos. Greetings Jo

Looks like someone collects rusty red tractors. Makes for great photo opportunities doesn't it?

Look at that! It is a reunion. I wonder what they had to talk about this morning. Tales from the farmyard.
Good shot and imagination, EG.

I love old farm equipment and the rusty red tractors are my very favorite!

Great post!

We don't have as much rust out here as in other places because it's so dry...

What an interesting post! I never knew that farmers used these rusty tractors for lawn ornaments. They do look really beautiful against the white snow :)

Oh dear - I'm thinking that this farmer's wife told him to get a hobby, so that he'd have a way to relax on Sundays....so he told her he thought he start a collection......

I love rust.

I love metal.

I love old, rusty metal.

If I could find a tractor like that I'd put it in my garden and let morning glories twine their way all over it!

Really fun stop on our little journey through Alphabe-Thursday's letter "R".

Thank you for linking.

A+
