C/Alphabe-Thursday

Cook's Bay, the southernmost bay on Lake Simcoe

Just 60 kilometres (40 miles) north of Toronto, Cook's Bay is a year-round destination for various activities such as boating,  wind surfing and kite sking and ice fishing. But I find the the bay attractive because it's so photogenic.

 Cook's Bay

Plus it's only minutes from where I live in East Gwillimbury, just south of Lake Simcoe.

 Sunset over Cook's Bay

Isn't it a great place to watch a beautiful sunset?

Another view of the same sunset

If this was just minutes away from home for me I'd be visiting often. Something about sitting by water makes me happy.

Beautiful pictures, especially the like the rich colours in the sunset.

My granddaughter was amazed when she discovered the percentage of water that covered the surface of the earth. That's definitely underscored by the number of water-related photos that CDP bloggers post. Always lovely!

Couldn't be more beautiful!

It surely is a beautiful place with photo ops around every corner. And you take such great pics anyway.

Love the pic of the E. Meadowlark. We have the Western Meadowlark not the Eastern, although the Western is in Eastern Washington not Western Wa. Confused yet? LOL

It is a pretty lakeshore, E.G.T.G. I could picnic and watch boats from under your first tree for a long time.

I can understand why you like this place...and your photos are wonderful! I'd spend a lot of time there if I lived in that neck of the woods! Nothing like a northern lake during the summer.

What are the mosquitoes like?

Beautiful shots!

Another place I need to visit sometime...

This is fantastic!

PS: Have you visited the Portlands Generating Station or another place? I imagine they all look quite similar. It was fun to visit, but not an easy place to photograph due to the low light and just general overwhelmingness of all that machinery! :)

You live in a beautiful place - and I know it well, having lived in Barrie, Bradford and twice in Camp Borden. Truly the garden of Ontario.
