RR1/Rural Thursday

One-of-a-kind rural mailbox

I bet everyone who sees this mailbox smiles.

Added later: I think the animal on the mailbox is a dinosaur. Do you think maybe it's a comment about snail mail versus email?

Lots of work went into that mailbox. I'm willing to bet the mailperson, enjoy's delivering mail to them.

That's pretty cool. But what's the thing behind it that's also covered in mosaic?

Great fun! I think I'll go with the idea that some kid made the dinosaur just to finish this off properly. ;-))

I wonder how many people have plowed into a tree while looking at this thing? At first I thought it looked like a woman's purse, but then I realized that no male should ever go into a woman's purse!

Haha, I love that! A sight you'd never find in a big busy city. I love that the creature resembles the Loch Ness monster, with reaaally long legs :)

I love the box -- I was thinking when I first saw that dinosaur (before I read your commentary) that it should be a big snail!!

I think that a mailbox theme would be most entertaining. This one is both colorful and creative.

Oh, that is so pretty. I wondered what the animal was...just might be a comment on snail mail. But I still love a hand written letter.
