Painted turtle

The sun is behind a cloud but this bathing beauty still is enjoying the fresh air.

he/she looks like it is a wonderful day to lay around on a log in the sun. pretty little striped head. he looks like the tiny ones people used to keep in fish bowls.

These turtles have no modesty whatsoever, but they are cute. And now you can say you've done some "nude" photoshoots!

I love these little guys. We are off to the river today for a hike, hoping to see some. Great shot!

I lived next to a pond when I was young, and painted turtles like this were very common. This guy brings back fond memories.

I can't wait for our painted turtles to come out! We have some residents on our pond, one that we've watched for many, many years now.
Last year we had tiny babies, too! It was very exciting.
