Jackson's Point/ Sky Watch

Harbour at Jackson's Point, Ontario, on Lake Simcoe

Although the Canadian province of Ontario is not situated on the Atlantic or Pacific oceans, it is still a watery place. It has many lakes, rives, ponds, creeks, marshes.... In fact I live within easy drive of three of the Great Lakes (Ontario, Huron and Erie), each of which looks from the shore to be a fresh water sea.

Lake Simcoe, the lake I frequent most often, is a big lake - although it's not large enough to be one of the five Great Lakes. My camera finds it very photogenic so begs me often to go there.

I've spent quite a few sunny days on the shores of Lake Simcoe when I lived further north than where I live now. And Lake Simcoe is the first place I went out on the ice to look at ice fishing, I was terrified.

You guys have big water up there, though. More like seas! Beautiful shot.

Those lakes up that way are HUGE, almost like oceans anyway. Super pic. In fact all your Lake Simco pics are special. MB

When your camera speaks, you must obey.

I can see why you would go to Lake Simcoe to take photos! It's beautiful!

Looking at the sky, at first I thought those were mountains in the background, but now think they're simply clouds...right?

Hope you have a great day!

I know what you're saying. There are some places that call to you to go and photograph them all the time.

What a fine image; so blue and summery.

I've never been to Lake Simcoe but I've been close. The clarity of the water in your lakes is much much better than in Ohio

Lake Simcoe is a beautiful spot for waterside photos. My uncle had a cottage there that we enjoyed many sunny summer afternoons.

Thanks for sharing this lovely view with us all in Sky Watch Friday.

So pretty - your sky looks as though it's mirroring the lake. I believe I see homes along its shores. I've skimmed earlier posts to see some of your other photos - all are WOW!

Anyone seen Babooshka? Maybe she is in Jackson's Point!

This is such a lovely palate. Not much lightness on my tour so far, so I'm appreciating this sky!
