Houseboat/ Weekend Reflections

Houseboat on the Trent-Severn Waterway, Bobcageon, Ontario

This is a fun alternative to owning a cottage, don't you think? A new vista every day and no grass to mow!

Another beautiful water shot. I need a list of all these places. They are so beautiful! I'd like to visit in person. :)

Super shot! We had a friend who wanted one of these very badly. Died before he could get one.

We've been out-of-town with no Internet...will be back blogging in the near future.

Hope all is well.

I could definitely do a weekend on the houseboat. What a cute home. :)

I'd want this lovely houseboat no more than I'd want a charming cottage. No tie-me-downs for this gal! But I could spend a little time in either! :-D

My dreamboat with a lovely reflection. I have always wanted a houseboat...I adore them for some reason. Maybe it is that the grass is always greener on the other side. This is a great shot. Wish I had been the one taking the photo. Genie

this just screams Summer! love it. I agree, I think it would be a great alternative to owning a cottage. no property taxes and what a view - a change of scenery every day if desired. oh yes. have a joyful weekend E.G.

Very nice shot! It's been awhile since I last saw a houseboat. I wouldn't mind spending a few days on one. :)

Yes, a houseboat would be lovely!

No matter how often I think I'd like to vacation on a houseboat, I've never actually done it. I love the idea of slipping in and out of the water so close to "home".

We considered a houseboat instead of a cabin believe it or not. The dock fees, etc. were just too much in our area.

I love the idea tho.

I think I could be very happy on that house boat -- especially with no grass to mow.

Yes, it looks perfect! It would be so nice having a choice to be inside or out on the deck depending on the weather.

Travelling along a canal by houseboat has long been a dream of mine. Usually, my dream is set in France or England, though. Which may be why it has never become reality!

Not a bad idea at all!

With new scenery everyday, I wouldn't mind too!

Beautiful reflections. They remind me of impressionist painting. I could live on a boat like this one.

I have always thought a houseboat is such a neat way to travel. Do you know that in Florida there are people that used to put their beehives on their boats and go up and down the river to get Tupelo honey. I don't if they still so this but I think it is so cool. What a wonderful way to appreciate the water!

No mowing and a lovely reflection every day. That's a nice looking houseboat, my idea of a perfect vacation.

Beautiful reflection! And a wonderful, relaxing way to travel. But boats are high maintenance items. That is a gorgeous sky (and reflection) in your previous post!

Hi there - what a great boat.

In answer to your question - I would say that everything I saw that weekend was new - just that some of the things I could have predicted would have been there and some not. The whole aim was to "pay attention" in a way that I dont normally - ie one patch, rather than a wider area.

Cheers Stewart M - Australia.

A floating RV -- but doesn't someone have to still cook and clean it?
