Gated Doorway

Locked gate outside the yellow door

I'm not sure what this gated entrance is all about as I have never seen one like this before in a small town except for...

A second gated entrance to the door seen through the first

the one on the other side of the column leading to the same yellow door.

I am linking to Good Fences HERE.

Hmm, there's a story there, EG.

Now I wonder what's behind the yellow door...

A door to protect an other door ...Or a place to breath between two doors.. Who knows ?

It is a pretty entrance! Not sure why they would need two gates! Enjoy your day!

Very attractive, seems like someone wants to protect something. What?

It's not a typical Canadian thing, especially in a small town.

Love the old yellow door. The iron gates are interesting. I wonder who/what they're keeping in/out.

Someone who really does not want people knocking on the door...

I usually I say a scene is inviting, but no, not here. I'm being told - we are elegant here, and you stay away.

Rose said...

Weird, but I really like it. I do wonder what the story is, though. We might all be surprised and there is no story.

That brickwork is pretty.

Probably for added security. Love the brickwork.

I really like it. Maybe it's for a second layer of protection!

Nice and colorful. I like the bricks too.

Peace :)

Gates are made for a purpose - this one looks old though.

Ah yes, and what awaits behind that lovely yellow door?

It is colorful and it is different and I like both shots!! Great captures as always! Maybe an interesting story behind the "yellow door and two locked gates"!! Might make a great mystery story!

Oh I would love to have that entry. It would keep salesman and politicians out.

There are some of these here, and they usually mean it is in a crime area. Looks like they do not want anyone getting in.

Gorgeous yellow door and I quite like the gates, the corner design must create a little bit of a courtyard entrance.

Intriguing gate leading to the lovely yellow door. It does make you wonder why they would have locked gates like that. I like the colors in these shots very much.

For whatever reason the gate is there, I think this entrance has style, and adds rather than subtracts from the property.

Lisa Gordon said...

That really is very different, but wonderfully so. Both are lovely.

That is new for me - never seen such a thing, EG!

Your giving me ideas - my brick is that colour and I just love yellow! Perhaps..

Nice but it could use a few flowers.

Oh I like these a LOT! We city bloggers do have our own types of fences to bring to TEX's party, don't we :-)

Hmmm, I am not sure about the functionality but the iron gates are sure stylish.

How mysterious, and lovely, too. It reminds me of a cloistered convent entrance. Or maybe the owner is paranoid about being robbed?

It looks like an entrance to a church or something to me. I can just imagine a Mother Superior standing there making sure all is safe.

Jeevan said...

It is a common scene here in India where there’s a secured iron gate in front of wooded doors. Excellent compo on the gated door!

Intriguing bit of redundancy there.

Very pretty setting, and the story behind the doors could be intriguing.
