Guard Dog/ Camera Critters

Sleeping on the job at an old-fashioned hardware store

OKAY, maybe he isn't really a guard dog. Perhaps he makes a better mascot.

The dogs (and cats) you see at the country stores are always too friendly to be guard dogs. They are more like a Wal-Mart greeter, only better.

Every good guard dog needs a bit of 'down time'.

Dogs like this spend so much time around people that they become exceedingly placid and trusting. He would probably hold the door open for the burglars.

I have respect for dogs, so I'm glad he is asleep. Beautiful animal portrait.
