Rural backyard on a lake
I was out hunting for migrating ducks when I discovered a different kind of flying "bird." This is not one you find in many backyards, is it? Here it looks like it's hidden in the weeds but...
here you can see the reeds have been cut down so the float plane owner can escape before someone asks him/her to mow the lawn or take out the garbage.

That's one way to beat gridlock.
Very unusual bird indeed:)
Always wanted to fly in a float plane and land on water:)
Thank you for your comment on my blog.
Love the photos and your story is so funny:) B
It looks stuck in the first photo, glad to see it is positioned to go.
Nice! Someone has a great hide away, but can get back to civilization quickly when necessary.
Oh nice find! It really is hidden in there.
Hmmm ~ that would be a handy item to have ~ great photos and humor ~ (A Creative Harbor) ^_^
a new view of a parking garage.. love it
Must be fun to ride in one of these.
gotta love that!
Nice and convenient for that quick getaway.
I've always wanted one of these float planes, but not likely I'll get one. We don't live on water. Never know what kind of bird you will find when you go looking for them.
I could park one of these in the canals...
Now that is one clever float plane owner - I've never seen one of these up close, love it! Very cool new 'bird' sighting:)
A handy thing that. Great sighting.
Lucky people! I guess they get stored for the winter like boats.
Now that is living the life! :)
Very unusual bird; wonder if it flies south for the winter?
Neat pictures nice serendipity to stumble on that! -- we saw a couple of those over the Lake this summer; I don't know where they "live" though.
Very unique photos.
That would be an interesting hobby! And if you are on the lakeshore, then you have a built-in landing strip!!
Those are lovely photos. I remember being on a ferry going through the San Juan Islands and only a little ways off was a house with pier and at the end of the pier was a float plane. How neat to own your own float plane! I used to see them head out from Victoria all the time and never did have a ride on one, but maybe one day :)
That's enough to throw ya. Very cool find.
You never know what kind of bird your are going to find. This was a fun one. I was fortunate to fly in two different float planes years ago. One was like this. The other was some kind of Army plane with room for 8 passengers. I got to sit in the cockpit with the pilot. it was awesome.
Interesting....wonder when he sneaked in? :)
This is a very interesting -- and unique -- find. I like your photos.
This is fantastic! Thanks so much for sharing.
Hope to see you on my blog:)
I like the first composition, interesting plane, looks like a movie scenery!
Ha, you are onto the ways of guys the world over.
At first I thought it had crashed here!
That is fascinating. You find the most interesting shots. :)
