Red Squirrel/Sunday Best

 OOPS! Busted!

Red squirrels eat fungi, berries, young shoots, seeds in pine cones,  bird eggs and, yes, bird seed.

Feeling shy

look at the length of the toe nails?

Been seeing more of the chipmunks around here than the squirrels.

Adorable critter as long as they're not destroying anything. :)

He is cute! I have not seen a squirrel since August when we were down island. There is none here for some reason. Really miss them.

Squirrels are cool, until they get in your attic.

These are wonderful pictures, squirrels can look so darn cute even when they are stealing the birds food.

I am sorry, but these guys are just pests to me. They dig up my garden. And I think they've foundation way into my attic now too. We're calling in the big guns next week.

love these little avocado thieves.great shots.
the reason we don't want the tree is we had not idea it would be more than 3 stories high and cover more than half the yard, it puts leaves in the pool year round and we have to patrol for 3 months of the year for avocado's on the ground, dogs are not supposed to eat them, the varmints knock them down when they are golf ball sized and when they are up to 3 pounds and Jake and Baby go straight to them if we don't get them first. the tree is more trouble than it is worth and also is now towering over out house and needs the limbs cut back off the roof which is really expensive.

I'm happy to report that a baby squirrel visited our feeders the other day and another, or possibly the same one more grown up, visited on Saturday.
