More than just overcast skies!
Well, it's true the sky is often overcast here in January...but not ALWAYS. This week has seen a mixture of snow, rain, wind, cold and "January Thaw."
Largest square: proof that I was not the only crazy person out taking photos this afternoon.
Moving clockwise: icicles on rocks, snow on spruce trees, farm with pink sunset as backdrop, ice created by spray from HUGE waves (Lake Ontario) and a snow plow (need I say more?).
I am Linking to Mosaic Monday HERE.
Please visit Michelle at Rambling Woods for more NATURE NOTES.
The kind of weather that is best viewed via someone else's photographs - preferably someone as skilful and artistic as your good self.
Nice snowy weather you been having over thin Canada. Love the photos.
I'm loving it -- from a distance, of course. :-)
love the farm in the top right. :)
Beautiful shots, particularly the ice on the rock face.
Glad you were the one taking pictures of that frozen spray - it is awesome. Bet it would be mega dangerous to get too close though.
Yup. The photos describe what January is all about.
Great pictures of the season.
I don't think you're a crazy person at all... just very brave. And very kind to share your beautiful images with all of us.
Oh that looks so cold!
Wonderful wintry scenes. The ice waves are amazing.. We are expecting another cold week here, I am sure snow too. Right now, I would enjoy a warm Bermuda high! Have a happy week!
Boy! I remember winters like this. Believe me, I like winters in Florida SO MUCH more.
Wonderful photos all depicting winter here in Ontario.
Wonderful photos all depicting winter here in Ontario.
These are all such beautiful shots. I love the icicles on the rocks. I wish we'd get some snow. Last year we didn't get any until February so there's still hope.
So beautiful...and you are so much more courageous than I!
Loved the back end of the snow plow. I see that a lot. Valerie
The red of his jacket matches the lighthouse so this shot just pops. Love your collage, they are a very nice assortment of shots. Very pleasing to the eye!
These are amazing. Stay warm.
the icicles are amazing!! wow, so cold. great post. ( :
There is such diversity in winter.I see beauty in each of these, well, maybe not the sanding truck, but they are a very necessary part of winter.
Nice photo collage. Like the snowy scenes.
Wonderful winter shots. That is lot of snow.
The ice spray is amazing and love the varied scenes...from the comfort of my sofa:)
fabulous winter scenes!!! out here on the left coast it is just grey ... once in a while the rain stops ... and we even saw sunshine for a bit today ... but it was back to grey before we knew it ... so i am just loving your wintery scenes ....
A picture says a thousand words. Great mosaic of your January weather. I love the farm scene. The wind has come up here tonight and the temperatures are dropping.
There's something wonderful about this time of year, as I have had the same time of winter as you, although yesterday and today are like our first thaw days this month! Great photos, especially the whipping waves of ice!
Beautiful series winter photos!
great to enjoy these cold photos from afar; beautiful scenes
Love that 'proof that I am not the only crazy person' line...
Wow- amazing photos! They literally gave me goosebumps when looking at the snow and ice. HAHA! Love the icicle photo. Here in So California we are having our annual Santa Ana WInds and temps in the upper 70's and low 80's. Would love to have a bit of cold! Have a nice week :)
Mid-January looks cold and great to me!
Like your round up of January shots. The ice wave is amazing.
Mid January is clearly a very chilly time of year, great series!
I would be the SECOND crazy one out in that cold but spectacular landscape, snapping away, hoping my nose doesn't snap off, in the process!
Winter certainly gives us lots of photo opportunities, it's not always too cold to go out with the camera. But I haven't done very much outdoor photography recently, you are inspiring me, I'll have to get out there again! But the next couple of days are forecast to be very cold, so I might wait until next week!!!
That fem highlighted in a pink sky is something.
I'm sitting here bundled in my robe with a warm cup of coffee and this still gave me the shivers. I don't know how y'all do it. Love the trio of trees and the soft morning light behind the farm.
You have actually made January look pretty and interesting! Another excellent collage which I'm glad to view from a distance!
Winter scenes can make for some awesome photography. Great photos indeed :)
I love how you combine just the right pictures together to make these. I see I am not the only one who loves them by all the comments!
Those wave-created ice sculptures are wonderful !
Haha, it's good to have company.
Wow..those ice form photos are just amazing, and your weather looks so cold.
Beautiful winter photos.
It looks so COLD . . . but really beautiful in the sun (ignore the grey clouds!)
Amazing - the many faces of winter in the cold!
I can't imagine icicles so huge!!!
A wonderful shot with the lighthouse, fences, and the sea.
We wore those shoes when we were in France one winter - we thought it was fun - well we were just visiting!
It was actually cold here today. The sidewalk was slippery on my way to the German course. I can live without snow though! :)
Some nice photos. We haven't had snow here in England yet! Though it's been cold enough to snow. Feel like I'm in hibernation with staying in so much!
Thank you. Love love, Andrew. Bye.
Looks like we're going to get our first significant snowstorm tomorrow. We'll see if I'm as adventurous as you about getting out in it. :-)
I love looking at winter scenery.
Loving these wintry photos, since I don't often get to see snow in California.
That is very pretty, but it does look cold!
awww, winter can be oh so beautiful.
That ice spray is just amazing! I'm going to have to quit complaining about winter after seeing yours.
These are some beautiful photos, but oh man, does it every look cold there.
Better to see the pics than to be there! ;-)
Oh wow!! In fact double wow!!!!! Truly beautiful. MB
I admire you for getting out Tina.. although I had a seat on the deck on that one warm day watching the ducks.. that was nice..but back to the freeze..Michelle
