Three Birds

Yellow Warbler (Setophaga petechia)

Yellow warblers never stay anywhere for very long so I was lucky to capture this one with my lens.

Gray Catbird (Dumetella carolinensis)

Catbirds, in my experience, tend to be shy so was pretty happy when this one sat on a limb for a few minutes.

Eastern Phoebe (Sayornis phoebe)

This phoebe is living up to her name as a flycatcher.  I am connecting to Stewart M's Wild Bird Wednesday HERE

I love all three but, never having seen a catbird, I was especially enthralled by her!

I think you did well to capture any of them as they are all three rather busy birds.

Ooooo the bird with the insect is a really nice catch.

A triple treat!!

Wonderful series. You caught the phoebe at the perfect moment.

we have not seen our catbird but we hear it sometimes. the hawks keep the birds away from here. there are 6 hawks living in Bray park that have decimated our squirrel and bird population.. i love the phoebe shot...

I saw several yellow birds in a big tree yesterday, so I am assuming they were yellow warblers.

There is just something about yellow birds that makes me smile!

All three of these are fabulous!

Wow, this Phoebe shot is very impressive!! It is perfect and perfectly beautiful. You are right about the catbirds. Here they meow while hidden. So we hear them but cannot see them.

Nice shots! Most birds are pretty skittish when confronted with a human and a camera. Good job in capturing these.

You certainly have a knack for bird photography, EG! And catching the Phoebe with a bug in its mouth!!

Wonderful to see all three of these birds up close. The Phoebe is especially fine. Great shots!

Beautiful birds all of them. I love the last shot.

Like you my experiences with all three of these birds has been fleeting. I have seen one yellow warbler, a cat bird maybe four times and the phoebe, twice. We actually have a phoebe pair living by our lake ... I hear them talking to each other each morning, but never see them, no matter how hard I try. So you are lucky in my book. Great shots of all three.
