Floating Leaf/ Ellipsis Monday

A leaf that floated through the air to this spot

It is now alternately freezing into the icy puddle beneath it at night and floating in a melted pool of water during the day.

This week's Ellipsis...Monday Photo Shoot assignment (due Sunday night, March 29) is "things that float."

Please note: Sky Watch is the post below.

A neat take on things that float. Great color with the leaf. MB

I see three seasons there -- fall (red leaf), winter (ice) and spring (melting ice) --- NICE catch!

Your Sky Watch is glorious.

And your floating leaf is absolutely stunning!

What a beauty of a photo! Even if I am so tired of snow and ice these days, I still see the beauty in it!

Hi :)

So beautiful. Autumn is my favorite season, and that leaf reminds me of how happy I always am to see it. The leaf framed in the ice makes me long for late November, when the cold is just beginning. Nice image.

Always, Carly

A pretty leaf in partially-melted ice -- yes, it definitely floated through the air to get there and is floating in the ice water. I wouldn't have thought of that first aspect if you hadn't mentioned it. Smart thinking and great photo!

That's lovely - the juxtaposition between being captured in ice and floating.
