Up Hill and Down/ MyWorld

This is for all of you sipping piña coladas by the pool imagining that ALL OF US in the Great White North are huddled indoors close to the fire for the winter months.

On many cold but sunny afternoons kids and adults enjoy sliding down this inviting hill.

Last Saturday, the hill was icy from extensive use, adding thrill for the adventurous who climbed to the top for extra speed and length of ride. And surprise bumps on the way down made the trek to the top well worth it for the über adrenaline addicted.

Sleds, toboggans, flying saucers, mats...mode of transportation varied. Most of the players came down the hill in a sitting position but this girl arrived at the bottom on her tummy.

Without the awesomeness of winter, I don't think I would enjoy the awesomeness of summer nearly as much. You'll have to show me where that hill is.

These are the days for winter fun. My daughter went down our local hill on her stomach, but she hit her chin and has quite a raspberry. It didn't stop her from sledding though.

Looks like everyone is having a fun time. I love the snow and we don't really get enough where I live, for my taste, most years. It's been at least 3 years since we've had enough snow for sledding. I know it can get old after a while but I'm hoping we'll get at least one snow that's deep enough for sledding this year. I enjoy your beautiful shots.

That is quite the fine hill, I wish we had a nice one like that around here. Our hill in the back field is short but sweet.

Ah, such fun! We surely have had an unusual amount of snow for here in Seattle, but it is beautiful. Thanks for sharing the fun and the pictures. Happy New Year!

Reminds me of my childhood days -- in southeastern Idaho, we had a place called Sleigh Hill and it was closed off to traffic on snow days. We spent long hours there riding our sleds down the hill in pure bliss. Thanks for the memories!

We have now had 14 days of snow this winter but unfortunately the rain ahs now melted all of it except that piled in parking lots.

Hey, that looks like a lot of fun. Your hill is much bigger than ours. I'd be going up and down that hill all day long. That's a very fun world you live in.

Oh that does look like fun, and actually with the sun shining it doesn't even look that cold.

A wonderful winter wonderland and a hill to climb and whoosh down on.
Takes me right back to my childhood.
Bright eyes and rosie cheeks and sleeping like a log at night.

These are great photos. Reminds me of my childhood; I lived down the block from a great sledding hill.

Michelle of Rambling Woods told me she's sent us some snow, so at least I'll get the fluffy part, even if I'm not living next to a sledding hill.
