A place to sit and contemplate Lake Ontario's beauty

This photo was taken in early May on the south side of the lake in Upstate New York.

Looks more like an October scene than May.

B Squared. I agree, but the date was May 8...before the leaves were on the trees here. ;-)

what a wonderful spot for a gazebo

I'm intrigued by the quick change of brown to blue of the lake's water. Do you know what that is about?

What a beautiful scene! You said SIT so that means there were benches in there. . . me thinks you could have saved that one for Rune's Friday theme. . . Ü I love gazebos and yours is especially beautiful.

Save me a seat also! I'll bring the wine!

That is so gorgeous! That is one of the best shots I have seen from you! I simply adore this scenery, and that gorgeous place to sit! Don't know the word for the lovely "house"....sorry! :) :)

Only rarely are lakes so large in Europe that you can't see the other shore. The colours are so pretty.

I must agree that the photograph has a sense of fall instead of spring. It's a good place to read a book or just be quiet.

I'll need a nice book as I sit and relax in that gazebo.. hmm.. a Canadian author.... I'll read Saul Bellow! :)

Lovely gazebo, very inviting and I could be lazy here for hours.

Very interesting shot. The gazebo looks a bit forlorn against the vast expanse of that water...

Love it!

Well, if Darla is bringing the picnic, and Valkryien the wine, what is left for me to bring? I know, a thermos of tea and some cakes!

That's really beautiful: lovely colors, interesting composition, and great lighting in spite of the gray skies. It's a winner!

I fear it was windy and little cool that day. The kind of scene that needs a wind-blown figure deep in thought.

We were in your neck of the woods on the w/e. I would have loved to have visited. We met our adult children on Scugog Ave. and had lunch in town. We were passing off the baby, whose parents had attended a wedding. It is a delightful area, albeit tons of traffic on a Sunday p.m.
Great shot.

Everything is bigger over there, especially the Lakes! Have you ever been to the Lake District in this part of the world?

EG CameraGirl said...

Eamon,
Sadly, I've never been to the Lake District. Sounds like a place I'd love to visit though!
