Chickadees

Black-capped Chickadee on branch

Have I told you lately how much I like chickadees?  This time of year they frequent my feeders. They may appear to be a little piggy...but wait! Did you think that was the same chickadee you saw a couple of  seconds ago. Probably not!

Chickadee on fence

This time of year, chickadees get together in smallish groups and, being quite unselfish, they tell the other members where the goodies are and scold ME if they think I ought to give them more space. LOL

I am linking to  Saturday Critters HERE.

They are delightful birds -- so bold and tame compared to others.

What gorgeous little birds. It's a shame we don't get them here in Tasmania as they are just so cute

I was once told that they are the "look outs" for the other birds and alert them of impending danger!...:)JP

When we were kids, the chickadees would land on our hands for seeds. Meeting those chipper little birds really helped me feel a connection with the natural world. Such special little creatures.

I do think they are so, so cute. I have not put out food for a couple days...hoping the starlings move on. The chickadees and titmouses(titmice?) hardly get to taste the food with they are around.
