Playfair Preston Co.

 Left-hand side of mural

This mural is on the building that once housed the Playfair Preston Company, a Midland general store from 1895 to the 1950s.

 Right-hand side of mural

Sadly there was a car parked out front when I was there.

Sign above the door

I love this sign, especially the part about the all wool underwear.

I am joining Monday Mural HERE

Small town general stores of years gone by were a shopping experience!

My uncle ran a store very similar to this in Kansas back when I was growing up. I loved to visit there!

Both elements of it look quite realistic!

I love the mural and also the underwear ad! There is a shop building and the original name in a nearby town. I remember it from the late 50's looking a lot inside like your pictures above. Today it's a Chinese supermarket, but the facade is still the same. Good memories from reading your post, Tina. Thanks

What an attractive mural. I guess I'm getting old because the picture has a comfortable, familiar feel to it.

Love the mural, EG! I haven't dragged out the longjohns yet this winter but I would pass on wool ones.

This has to be my FAVORITE mural that have been posted since I started following the meme. It appeals to me like an Anne of Avonlea. I would love to have lived in that period of time. The sign is a great one. I love the entire post.
