Old barn foundation/ SOOC

You are probably scratching your head and wondering why I'm posting this old barn foundation. The answer: because I LIKE it. And I like the snow-covered weeds in front and the evergreens in the distance. The old foundation has secrets. How can we make it divulge what it knows?

I like what you say about this picture, so many tales to tell and yes winter can be so beautiful!

I can see from your post that we like this type of photos for the same reasons.

I have spent a lot of time at old fallen-down, backwoods homesteads, trying to picture what they looked like when someone lived there, and to speculate as to whats those persons thoughts and dreams were.

I say we wait for spring thaw and bring a metal detector... :)

I often wonder what stories old buildings have to tell. This one surely has a story.

I like it, too. This type of photo, or even painting, draw me right in. Great one.

I would search the area with my metal detector. That surely would bring up hidden secrets. Interesting picture.
I see Judi has the same idea. We have detected many an old foundation and found so many treasures. None worth much, only to us.

If you find a way to make the walls talk, please tell me! I always look and wonder what kind of life they have observed, and have the people they have known been happy or grumpy, hardworking or lazy. Just so much I wish I could step back in time and see.

It is a super shot, EG. And you like it and that is why we take pictures. Do you know any of its secrets? MB

MaryBeth,
I don't know any of its secrets yet, MB. But I do drive past it often so maybe I'll stop at the nearby house one day to see if anyone there knows.

LOL! Liking it is a good reason as any to post it. I think shots like this do raise pondering questions. That's a good thing. :-)
