Split Cedar Rail

 Split-cedar rail in winter

Truth be told, I like split-cedar rail fences any time of year but I think they are the most beautiful in winter when there's still a bit of snow clinging to the topsides.

Yes, these are lovely. Fresh fallen snow makes just about everything prettier, even already pretty split rail fences.

I so agree. I love that kind of fence, and a lining of snow is the best.

These split-rail fences are iconic in many parts of our countries. You've used them to great effect here in these two photos! The scene is bleak in its solitude, but is enchanting for that very reason!

They are mine too. We mostly have those on the farm and this time of year they are the best work of art. Hug B

These ole timey split rails are absolutely my favorites along with the little white wooden picket fences. The white show really sets it off. Lovely.

I do agree rail fences are the most beautiful, but I'm pretty sure they would not even slow my goats down. Well, maybe the big fat ones, but it wouldn't stop them. LOL
