American Tree Sparrow (Spizella arborea)
I have been trying to learn how to identify the various sparrows commonly seen in central and southern Ontario, and this is one of the easiest because the top side of its bill is black and the bottom is yellow. Tree sparrows spend the warm months way, wa-a-ay up north but a few winter here in south-central Ontario.
Thinking about flying down for some seed on the ground
I am linking to Saturday Critters HERE.

A couple of lovely little portraits. A little different from our Tree Sparrows.

All sparrows are adorable and I love them. I greet you.
Oh, yeah! I worked at trying to better distinguish these little squirts from each other without much success. Photographs like these, though, definitely would have helped.
Wow, these are gorgeous shots of the Tree Sparrow. I am envious, I have not been able to get a good Tree Sparrow photo yet.. Thank you for linking up with my critter party. Have a happy weekend!

Hi again. Re your question about "blending of the bumpers": Yes, it just came to me. I do like playing with words.
Awww...very cute! I like the expression the sparrow has on your first shot.
As always, your shots are awesome, I can see every little feather on these cuties! As soon as I open your blog, you take my breath away! Thanks so much for sharing the beauty and your talent with the camera

Awww, your bird portraits are just SO good! I don't think I have ever seen a tree one before. But we have many chipping, white throat, and house.
We have only 2 Sparrows in the UK and one of them is a Tree Sparrow however it is not the same as yours. These are great shot. Have a lovely weekend.
I'll have to keep an eye out for these birds with the two colours on their beaks.
I fell in love with this sweet bird when it visited our garden this fall. Just a stop by on his way south or perhaps his inter home...
More pics for your bird book which you really should do, EG! I'd buy one for sure. ;-)
