Woodland Path

Black squirrel

The squirrel is climbing a cross piece that stabilizes one of the legs on a rustic cedar fence along a conservation trail.

Sitting on the fence's top rail

Tuesday last was a wonderfully warm day, perfect for squirrels and humans to enjoy the outdoors.

Posing as "King of the Mountain"

I am linking to Good Fences HERE.

The squirrels around here are the fattest I have seen in many years. The one in your photos also looks like he is well feed.

Those black ones are the cutest squirrels ever. I'd love to see one someday.

We have a few over here too but you'd be lucky to glimpse one let alone photograph it. Neat little creatures.

I don't think that I've ever seen a black squirrel before.

We do not have Black Squirrels in the UK so this for me was a lovely close up capture and a lovely weathered fence to show him off.

Great shots, you did well to capture him so sharply!

I have never seen a black squirrel either, red and grey are common here. He looks sleek.

The devious rascal looks like he or she is in good shape for the winter.

Lovely captures, and just my favorite kind of squirrel, next, or second best is the all white, albino ones!

I think he wants more than just his picture taken. ;-)

I've noticed that their tails are soooo bushy this year. I hope that doesn't mean we are in for a cold winter.

These are excellent pictures, he is posing just for you!! I love seeing them, because we have only the grey ones. I have NEVER seen a black squirrel before! He is sleek and pretty. Kind of the Darth Vader of squirrels...

Oh my gosh he's adorable. I've never seen a black squirrel before but I like them. He does seem to be posing so nicely against that fence post for you.

Like Andy said, the black squirrels are quite well fed, this year. Even though they're also considered Easter Grey, I've always noticed that they usually look skinnier than the greys do. Not this year. And their tails are particularly bushy too, this year.
